Another Kind of Primrose Moth

The Primrose glistened –  tiny droplets coated  tender trichomes.    As I walked through the garden, I was delighted to see a small, rosy pink moth.

Heretofore, I was familiar with Schinia florida – Primrose Moth.  I was only recently aware of its existence, but I was deeply smitten! But, today’s moth was much smaller and darker than the Primrose Moths.

After some research, I determined that this moth was a Cochylis oenotherana – Primrose Cochylid Moth.  Beautiful!

Today’s Discovery – The Primrose Cochylid Moth

A small urban “Hellstrip” garden can provide a healthy and beautiful habitat that promotes biodiversity. I am always making new discoveries, such as today’s Primrose Cochylid Moth. If you are able, please join me in transforming our world.
