White bark
Spotted
The empty plates of woodpecker feasts
Copper oak leaves
Verdigris of old wheat pennies
Fantastic forms
Like a marble column in ruins
But here it once lived
These are the bones of this being
White bark peeling, like lead paint
Wallpaper from crumbling horsehair
Insect worlds , tunnels
And woodpecker buffets
